Gary's Glastonbury fame spreads

A poem by resident Glastonbury poet Elvis McGonagall has been published on the Glastonbury Festivals website. Gary of course gets appropriate recognition of his talents.

This is the text from the site:

Elvis McGonagall's Further Verses
Not content with bending poetic ears onsite, the Festivals official website poet in residence, Elvis McGonagall has been reflecting on his visit to this year's Glastonbury and produced a further round of poems, inspired without the embrocation of cider - or so he says!

Elvis In Wonderland
The man in the plumed bowler hat
Soft-shoe shuffles round the ballroom floor
The rockabilly vicar in a tutu
Drinks cocktails with Zsa Zsa Gabor
Furry pink Cossacks in hot pants
Lie draped on a Soviet tank
A six-foot white rabbit in flippers
Walks the pirates’ plank
Che Guevara and Carmen Miranda
Ride the dodgems of disco desire
Slam dancing like blazes in hellraising kilt
Satan sets his sporran on fire
Girls in sequinned dresses
Muddily roll in the hay
Gary The Psychic Goat Boy
Swigs scotch with the fey croupier

Trolley-Dollies trundle by
Serving prohibition booze
Donny Tourette plays Russian roulette
Marge Simpson plays rhythm-and-blues
The sumo-wrestling Santa Claus
Jitterbugs with a drunk Liberace
A celtic-bhangra-ska band board
“The Night Train To Karachi”
Trailer trash tramps ‘n transvestites
Congregrate in The Chapel of Love
Rocky Balboa in a puce feather-boa
Is k-o’d by a nun with one glove
Ten Taliban do the cancan
In matching Burberry burkas
Wee Jimmy Krankie sings a sea-shanty
To a crowd of inflatable Gurkhas
Sunk on a sofa al fresco
In ocelot coat and cheongsam
A Pre-Raphaelite punk drinks tea and recites
The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam
Twins in tuxedos and rubber cow masks
Surf the sludge ‘n the slime
On a magic carpet of neon-lit laughter
Till Zebedee says it’s bedtime
And I wake under rain-sodden canvas
Memories turning to rust
Feeling lost and very vague
But clothed in fairy-dust
